(VideoBox): Hidden Hands, 2007
By John LaRocca

Prior to success, many artists serve as artists’ or gallery assistants. The group exhibition Nightshift II: Hidden Hands is dedicated to twenty-nine emerging artists who spend tireless hours and days toiling for the established Chelsea community, yet possess the conviction to nurture their own careers. The exhibition offers the inconspicuous aides of the Chelsea Arts District an opportunity for additional success.

With engaging painting, sculpture, installation, video, and performance, Night Shift II: Hidden Hands is evidence that the assistant can be just as talented as the assisted, and deserve to be exhibited.
