Internship at White Box Not-for-profit Alternative Art Space
White Box is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit, alternative art space in Chelsea currently looking to fill full-time (4 day minimum) and part-time (2 day minimum) internship positions for Fall/Winter 2011.
White Box interns have the unique opportunity to work closely with a professional staff in learning all aspects of managing a not-for-profit organization, including the subtle details of daily organizational work through to exhibition installation.
Internships at White Box are particularly beneficial to motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in cultivating exhibition, operations and arts administration experience in order to pursue desired careers in the art world.
Responsibilities and training include: front-line reception and telephone inquiries services; assisting staff, artists and curators with all related to annual exhibitions/programs ranging from press / public information, installing and de-installing exhibitions, art handling/shipping, all inventories supplies/equipment and archival electronic, visual DVD’'s, audio CD’'s, printed catalogue and other program materials; benefits and special event production; assist with grant preparations; general marketing and fundraising; annual and quarterly program related research; and various arts administration responsibilities.
